The Golden Hind was the sacred stag that belonged to Artemis. Hercules was tasked to try to catch this magical creature that could simply move from one spot to another, but was unable to do it without hurting the stag first. Concerned, Artemis decided to lend him the stag, so that he could say he completed the task

Artemis would reward the one that would catch the animal (without hurting it). If the reward was to be able to talk to animals, most of the stuff we would hear would be about food, sex, get out of my territory, more food, and more sex XD
